CVE-2024-11867

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Companion Portfolio – Responsive Portfolio Plugin versions up to 2.4.0.1
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'companion-portfolio' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to 2.4.0.1, update to the latest version to mitigate risks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'companion-portfolio' shortcode until a patch is available. Ensure that all user-supplied attributes are properly sanitized and escaped to prevent arbitrary web script injection.
