Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
TPG Get Posts plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.6.5
Description
The TPG Get Posts plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'tpg get posts' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.6.5, update to the latest version immediately to mitigate risks.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
tpg get posts shortcode until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the tpg get posts shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation.
