Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Ultimate Bootstrap Elements for Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.6
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages via the
heading title tag and heading sub title tag parameters. The injected scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.3.6, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
heading title tag and heading sub title tag parameters to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
