Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Memberpress plugin for WordPress versions prior to 1.11.27
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the
message and error parameters. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to and including 1.11.26, update to version 1.11.27 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
message and error parameters in the affected API endpoints until a patch is available.
Avoid using the message and error parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved.Fix
