Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Element Pack Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.5.3
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the
element pack wrapper link attribute of the Trailer Box widget due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 5.5.3, update to a version higher than 5.5.3 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Trailer Box widget until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the
element pack wrapper link attribute to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
