CVSS v2.0
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
macOS Sonoma versions prior to 14.3
iOS versions prior to 17.3
iPadOS versions prior to 17.3
Description
The issue is related to errors in processing permissions in the Shortcuts component of iOS, macOS, and iPadOS operating systems. This may allow a shortcut to use sensitive data with certain actions without prompting the user, potentially allowing a remote attacker to disclose protected information.
Recommendations
For macOS Sonoma versions prior to 14.3, update to macOS Sonoma 14.3 to fix the issue.
For iOS versions prior to 17.3, update to iOS 17.3 to fix the issue.
For iPadOS versions prior to 17.3, update to iPadOS 17.3 to fix the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of shortcuts that may be using sensitive data without user prompting until a patch is available.
