CVE-2024-1510

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WP Shortcodes Plugin — Shortcodes Ultimate plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 7.0.2
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's su tooltip shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes and tags. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 7.0.2, consider disabling the su tooltip shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to pages that may have been injected with malicious scripts to minimize the risk of execution. Avoid using the su tooltip shortcode with user-supplied attributes and tags until the issue is resolved.
