CVE-2024-1519

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ProfilePress plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.14.4
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the name parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, requiring a member listing page to be active and using the Gerbera theme.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.14.4, update to a version later than 4.14.4 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to member listing pages or disabling the use of the Gerbera theme until a patch is available. Additionally, avoid using the name parameter in affected pages until the issue is resolved.
