Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Ninja Forms - File Uploads plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.3.16
Description
The issue is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability via an uploaded file, such as an RTX file, due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.3.16, update to a version later than 3.3.16 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting file uploads or disabling the file upload feature until a patch is available. Restrict access to uploaded files to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the Ninja Forms - File Uploads plugin until the issue is resolved.
