CVE-2024-1723

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.58.7
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor access or above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute when a user accesses an injected page. Affected parameters include: instance['fonts']['title options']['tag'], headline tag, sub headline tag, feature['icon'].
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.58.7, update to a version that addresses the Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the parameters instance['fonts']['title options']['tag'], headline tag, sub headline tag, feature['icon'] to minimize the risk of arbitrary script injection.
