CVE-2024-1770

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Meta Tag Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.0.2
Description The Meta Tag Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input in the get post data function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor access or higher, to inject a PHP Object. No POP chain is present in the vulnerable plugin. However, if a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.0.2, update to a version higher than 3.0.2 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the get post data function until a patch is available. Additionally, restrict contributor access or higher to minimize the risk of exploitation.
