CVE-2024-1858

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Lightbox slider – Responsive Lightbox Gallery plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.9.9
Description The issue is related to PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input through post meta data. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject a PHP Object. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.9.9, update to a version that fixes the PHP Object Injection issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to post meta data to minimize the risk of untrusted input deserialization. Additionally, review installed plugins and themes for potential POP chains that could exacerbate the issue.
