Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Giveaways and Contests by RafflePress – Get More Website Traffic, Email Subscribers, and Social Followers plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.12.5
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, specifically via the
parent url parameter.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.12.5, update to a version later than 1.12.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
parent url parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
