High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Cisco IOS Software and Cisco IOS XE Software (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the IKEv1 fragmentation code could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a heap overflow, resulting in an affected device reloading. This issue exists because crafted, fragmented IKEv1 packets are not properly reassembled. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted UDP packets to an affected system, potentially causing the device to reload and resulting in a DoS condition. The vulnerability can be triggered by both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic, but only traffic directed to the affected system can be used to exploit this issue.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
