Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Ultimate Member – User Profile, Registration, Login, Member Directory, Content Restriction & Membership Plugin plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.8.3
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. This makes it possible for attackers to execute scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.8.3, update to a version that includes the patch released on March 6 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to parameters that are vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting until a patch is applied.
Fix
XSS
