CVE-2024-2124

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Translate WordPress and go Multilingual – Weglot plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.2.5
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's widget/block due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes such as className. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.2.5, update to a version later than 4.2.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the widget/block feature to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the className attribute in the affected widget/block until the issue is resolved.
