| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Firefox versions prior to 123
Firefox ESR versions prior to 115.8
Thunderbird versions prior to 115.8
Description
A malicious website could use a combination of exiting fullscreen mode and
requestPointerLock to cause the user's mouse to be re-positioned unexpectedly. This could lead to user confusion and inadvertently granting permissions they did not intend to grant. The issue is related to incorrect restriction of visualizable layers or frames of the user interface, which could allow a remote attacker to conduct spoofing attacks.Recommendations
For Firefox versions prior to 123, update to version 123 or later to resolve the issue.
For Firefox ESR versions prior to 115.8, update to version 115.8 or later to resolve the issue.
For Thunderbird versions prior to 115.8, update to version 115.8 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
requestPointerLock function until a patch is available.Exploit
