CVE-2024-2290

CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Advanced Ads plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.52.1
Description The Advanced Ads plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input in the placement slug parameter. This allows authenticated attackers to inject a PHP Object. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.52.1, consider disabling the deserialization of untrusted input in the placement slug parameter as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive data and files to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the placement slug parameter in untrusted input until the issue is resolved.
