CVSS v2.0
6.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the phy-omap-usb2 module of the Linux kernel. This can occur when the external phy working together with phy-omap-usb2 does not implement the
send srp() function, and the system attempts to call it, potentially leading to a denial of service. This situation can arise when an idle Ethernet gadget triggers a wakeup. The problem is resolved by checking for send srp() and set vbus() before calling them, especially in cases where these might be NULL for USB peripheral-only scenarios.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
