Description The issue is related to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the ajax save image function. This allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server, potentially making remote code execution possible.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.3.5, update to a version that fixes the missing file type validation issue in the ajax save image function to prevent arbitrary file uploads. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ajax save image function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's image upload functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation.
