CVE-2024-2459

CVSS v3.1

7.4

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions UX Flat plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.1
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'button' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For UX Flat plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.1, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'button' shortcode for users with contributor-level and above permissions to minimize the risk of exploitation.
