Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
JetWidgets For Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.16
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the widget button URL due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.0.16, update to a version higher than 1.0.16 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the widget button URL to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, limiting contributor-level access and above can help reduce the attack surface until a patch is applied.
Fix
XSS
