Description
The issue is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This vulnerability is related to a buffer overflow in memory, which can be exploited by an attacker using a specially crafted file.
Recommendations
For Acrobat Reader versions 20.005.30539, 23.008.20470 and earlier, consider disabling the ability to open files from untrusted sources until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive features and modules to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using vulnerable functions or parameters that may trigger the out-of-bounds write issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
