CVE-2024-2643
CVSS v3.1
4.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Floating Notification Bar, Sticky Menu on Scroll, Announcement Banner, and Sticky Header for Any WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.6.8
Description
The issue concerns a Stored Cross-Site Scripting attack that can be performed by high-privilege users, such as admins, due to the plugin's failure to sanitise and escape some of its settings. This can occur even when the unfiltered html capability is disallowed, for example, in a multisite setup.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.6.8, update to version 2.6.8 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of exploitation.
