CVE-2024-26844

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A warning in copy from iter has been reported by Syzkaller due to an iov iter being used in the wrong direction. This occurs when a request with a transfer direction of SG DXFER TO FROM DEV is generated, instructing the kernel to copy user buffers into the kernel, read into the copied buffers, and then copy the data back to user space. As a result, the iovec is used in both directions. The block layer detects this situation and constructs a new iterator with the correct direction for the copy-in.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
