CVE-2024-26861

CVSS v3.1

4.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A data-race issue was identified in the Linux kernel when accessing keypair->receiving counter.counter. The issue was detected by Syzkaller with KCSAN and is related to the wg packet decrypt worker and wg packet rx poll functions. The data race occurs when accessing the receiving counter.counter variable, which can be modified by multiple threads simultaneously. To address this issue, READ ONCE() and WRITE ONCE() annotations are used to mark the data race as intentional.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
