CVE-2024-26938

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the Linux kernel, specifically in the drm/i915/bios component. It involves tolerating devdata==NULL in the intel bios encoder supports dp dual mode() function. If there is no VBT or the VBT did not declare the encoder in question, the 'devdata' for the encoder will be missing. Instead of causing an error, the function will now bail early. This means it won't be possible to determine whether the port is DP++ or not.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
