Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GamiPress – The #1 gamification plugin to reward points, achievements, badges & ranks in WordPress plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 6.9.0
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's shortcode(s). This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 6.9.0, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's shortcode(s) to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection.
Fix
XSS
