Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WPC Composite Products for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 7.2.7
Description
The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, along with missing authorization on the
ajax save components function. This allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts via the wooco components[0][name] parameter. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 7.2.7, update to a version later than 7.2.7 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
ajax save components function until a patch is available.
Avoid using the wooco components[0][name] parameter in the affected functionality until the issue is resolved.Fix
