CVE-2024-2847
CVSS v3.1
6.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WordPress File Upload plugin versions up to, and including, 4.24.5
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's shortcode(s). This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For WordPress File Upload plugin versions up to, and including, 4.24.5, update to a version later than 4.24.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's shortcode(s) to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
