Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
ProfilePress plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.15.4
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, specifically via the
title parameter. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor access or above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute when a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.15.4, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
title parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
