Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Animate versions 24.0, 23.0.3 and earlier
Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in dynamic memory, which could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code by using a specially crafted file. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file, potentially resulting in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.
Recommendations
For Adobe Animate versions 24.0, 23.0.3 and earlier, update to a version that fixes the out-of-bounds write vulnerability to prevent arbitrary code execution.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of potentially malicious files with Adobe Animate until a patch is available.
Restrict user interaction with untrusted files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
