Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Sentrifugo version 3.2
Description
A Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue exists, allowing a remote user to send a specially crafted URL to the victim and steal their session data. This is achieved through the
/sentrifugo/index.php/expenses/expensecategories/edit API endpoint, specifically by manipulating the expense category name parameter.Recommendations
For Sentrifugo version 3.2, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling access to the
/sentrifugo/index.php/expenses/expensecategories/edit API endpoint until a patch is available. Additionally, restrict the use of the expense category name parameter in this endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.XSS
