CVSS v2.0
5.5
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.19 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, which can be exploited if an attacker convinces a victim to visit a URL referencing a vulnerable page, potentially allowing malicious JavaScript content to be executed within the context of the victim's browser. The vulnerability is also described as being related to insufficient protection of the web page structure, which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.19 and earlier, consider disabling access to vulnerable pages until a patch is available. Restrict access to potentially vulnerable API endpoints, such as
/api/v1/login or /users/{id}, to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using parameters that could be used to inject malicious code, such as username or user id, in affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.XSS
