CVE-2024-3200

CVSS v3.1

9.9

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions wpForo Forum plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.3.3
Description The issue is related to SQL Injection via the slug attribute of the wpforo shortcode due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries, potentially extracting sensitive information from the database.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.3.3, consider disabling the wpforo shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the slug attribute to minimize the risk of SQL Injection attacks. Avoid using the slug attribute in the wpforo shortcode until the issue is resolved.

Fix
