Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Header Footer Code Manager Pro plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.16
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. This can be achieved by tricking a user into performing an action, such as clicking on a link, via the
message parameter.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.0.16, update to a version higher than 1.0.16 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
message parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
