CVE-2024-3492

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Events Manager – Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more! plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 6.4.7.3
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'event', 'location', and 'event category' shortcodes due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 6.4.7.3, consider disabling the 'event', 'location', and 'event category' shortcodes as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to these shortcodes to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using user-supplied attributes in these shortcodes until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
