CVE-2024-3561

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Custom Field Suite plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.6.7
Description The issue allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to perform SQL Injection via the Term custom field. This is due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query, making it possible to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries to extract sensitive information from the database.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.6.7, update to a version higher than 2.6.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Term custom field to minimize the risk of exploitation.
