CVE-2024-35924

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue concerns the Linux kernel, specifically the UCSI (USB Type-C Interface) component. Between UCSI 1.2 and UCSI 2.0, the size of the MESSAGE IN region was increased from 16 to 256. To avoid overflowing reads for older systems, a mechanism was added to use the read UCSI version to truncate read sizes on UCSI v1.2.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
