CVE-2024-35961

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.4.0-rc5
Description The issue arises when a device encounters a non-fatal firmware error during the probe process. The driver reports this error to the user via devlink, triggering a WARN ON because mlx5 calls devlink register() last. To avoid this, mlx5 should invoke devl register() first under the devlink lock.
Recommendations To resolve the issue, update the Linux kernel to a version that includes the fix for this problem. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
