CVE-2024-36022

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the initialization of the zone device and DRM client after a mode-1 reset on reload in a passthrough environment. When the amdgpu is reloaded after unload, mode-1 is triggered, but the initialization does not include KFD, causing the zone device and DRM client to not be initialized. This results in the application creating a kernel panic. The vulnerability is resolved by removing the init KFD condition from amdgpu amdkfd drm client create and adding a condition to guard against multiple DRM client creation calls.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
