Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Interactive World Maps plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.4.14
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The
search (s) parameter is specifically vulnerable to this issue.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.4.14, update to a version later than 2.4.14 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
search (s) parameter in the affected plugin until a patch is available.Fix
