Description
The vulnerability is related to the drm/nouveau/firmware component of the Linux kernel. Enabling SG DEBUG in the kernel causes nouveau to hit a BUG() on startup, resulting in a kernel BUG at include/linux/scatterlist.h:187 with an invalid opcode. The issue is caused by the nvkm firmware ctor function.
