Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Salient Core plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.0.7
Description
The Salient Core plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion via the
nectar icon shortcode icon linea attribute. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to include and execute arbitrary files on the server, enabling the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where PHP file types can be uploaded and included.Recommendations
For Salient Core plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.0.7: Update the plugin to a version later than 2.0.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
nectar icon shortcode or disabling the icon linea attribute until a patch is available. Avoid using the icon linea attribute in the nectar icon shortcode until the issue is resolved.Fix
