Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Essential Blocks – Page Builder Gutenberg Blocks, Patterns & Templates plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.5.9
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's "Social Icons" block due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.5.9, update to a version later than 4.5.9 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "Social Icons" block until a patch is available.
Fix
XSS
