CVE-2024-3868

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Folders Pro plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.0.2
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting, which occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of a user's First Name and Last Name. This allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.0.2, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to editing user profiles to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, restrict the ability to inject scripts via the First Name and Last Name fields until a patch is available.
