CVE-2024-4092

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Slider Revolution plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 6.7.7
Description The issue allows for Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the htmltag parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This enables authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute when a user accesses an injected page. By default, exploitation is limited to administrators, but the ability to use and configure the plugin can be extended to authors.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 6.7.7, update to a version later than 6.7.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the htmltag parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.
