CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a copy-paste error in the Linux kernel, specifically in the mlx90635 probe() function. When devm regmap init i2c() fails, regmap ee could be an error pointer, but instead of checking for IS ERR(regmap ee), regmap is checked. This error can lead to an ERR PTR dereference.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
