Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a potential deadlock in the Linux kernel's serial component, specifically in the imx uart console write() function. By introducing a timeout when waiting for the transmitter to be empty, the kernel avoids this deadlock. If a timeout occurs, the transmitter state is ignored, and the process continues optimistically. This issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
