Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the
pfn section valid() function. This occurs due to a race condition with section deactivate() where ms->usage can be cleared. The addition of a READ ONCE() call around ms->usage is not sufficient to prevent the NULL pointer dereference, and a check of its value before dereferencing is necessary. There is no information provided about the estimated number of potentially affected devices or real-world incidents where this issue was exploited.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
